Unless the search function missed it, I see no place on the forum that anyone has listed the torque for the wheel lug nuts and bolts. I have an XR 4140 and would like to retorque the wheels correctly. If anyone has these numbers, I'd appreciate them.

Aren't the wheel lug torque values listed in your Owners Manual?

If they are, I missed them, and I've read it a dozen times

I found mine in the service manual. I looked at the owners manual too, but that only says to 'check the torque.' which is helpful.

The service manual is 131-145lbft for both front and rear for my tractor (which is probably going to be the same as yours)

I just put a bar on the end of my beaker bar, and do the 'German Torque setting' of Goodtntite

and for anyone that doesn't think they should check them, they should. My left rear had one tight, one snug, and 4 finger tight.

My owners manual just has a generic table that lists torques for given sizes and grades of bolts. My wheel rear wheel, lugs are supposed to be 260 ft lbs. My good Snap On torque wrench only goes to 250, so that is what they get.
The first thing I did when I got the tractor home from the dealer was check all the lugs. None were properly torqued. Some were close, while some were only 50 or 60 ftlbs. That is an area LS needs to do better.
I rechecked at 50 and again at 150 hours. They were at about 225 or so at 50 hours, but were still tight at 150 hours. I have now marked them with a paint marker and wont bother using the wrench again.

Good grief that is some massive torque!
You have the 10.9T bolts for your wheel bolts?

When I got my tractor delivered, I went around with a wrench and simply checked to see if they were tight. No torque wrench necessary. I did find a few lug bolts that were a bit loose, so they got the wrench. Also, after a few hours of diesel engine vibration, things started to loosen up. I found the hood catch starting to get loose, a screw from the ceiling panel fell out, quick attach lever loosened up, pins fell out of the three point arm (though I am sure that was a stick or something), and a loader frame bolt loosened up about 20hrs ago.

Nothing that cant be fixed, but pays to do a walk around and look at things from time to time.

The wheel lug nuts have never been loose on my M6040. One look in my new tractor Owners Manual - I had to purchase a new torque wrench. The inner nuts on front/back wheels - 300 foot pounds, the outer nuts on the front/back wheels - 250 foot pounds.

I decided, right then and there, I would use BLUE Lok Tite on ALL the wheel lug nuts. Ten years - checked every spring - never a loose nut.
