Short version of backstory....
My Canadian cell carrier is playing "Let's add random shortcode SMS charges" to my already ridiculously expensive plan.
So, I'm looking at options......
I'd like to go back to just flat-texting (and may go back to a vintage flip if I get any more po'd.....), but barring that, I'm looking at what are good 3rd party SMS applications.....
Some of the top ones I've come across are Whatsapp and Textra. Anybody have any experience with these apps ? I'm particularly interested to hear from anybody who is using these apps AND STILL gets charged for SMS shortcodes, or any other nuisance messaging charges by their carrier.
I'm not limiting myself to just these 2 applications for consideration - am open to hearing about others too....
