The more I talk to these dealers the more confused I get. As most of you on here know I have been caught between a BX2350, BX24 or a 7610 I do really like all of them and the BX I'm sure would do most of what I want.
Now I get to the dealer or on the phone and I feel like they seem that the BX is crap compared to a 7610, inferior, pumps much smaller less power,small tires ,little ground clearance, much less loader capacity so now the price is only 3-4 grand more for the 7610. By the time they get done who would buy a piece of crap like that BX. How much better is a 7610????????? 3-4 Grand better??????

RoyJackson has made it clear about these dealers... :D

Read Roy's editorial here ==> http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/.../99865-tractor-buying-supposed-difficult.html

Honestly, I don't look at this as "better" relative to (3 - 4 grand) dollars but "dollars relative to your needs." These are two different machines with different capabilities of functionality and service. If you need the capability of the larger designed machine, then the money is just a matter of difference in product, not necessarily better.

However, I do feel your pain.... ;)

Well what are you telling the dealer you want to do with it. Is it worth more to you or not is the real question. These tractors are worth what they are to there owners because of what they plan to do with them. A BX is hardly a piece of crap but if you going to beach it every 100 yards it is clearly not going to work for you. A BX is a lawn tractor with Benefits, I say that in jest because a BX is hardly a Lawn Tractor as well but it is usually purchased by a home owner with creative skills and are very personal machines. You have to balance your Needs & Your budget and do what is best for you. Your dealer should be putting you in what will work best within those parameters

How about spelling out what you want to do with the new unit, and how many hours a year you expect to run it?

I have to agree with others. Define your needs and then look for the proper equipment. The BX is a great machine within it's limits, the 7610 is a bit large for a lawn mower. You seem to be comparing lawn mowers to compacts, to TLB.

"The BX is a great machine within it's limits" Just what does that suppose to mean?What is its limits? From what I can gather there is not much I can't do with a 2350 or a BX24 that I could do with a same equip 7610 just a little slower, giving up some lift capacity and a little hoe power but if there is a will there is a way with the smaller machine. For about same dollars as a 7610 w/fel and 54 MMM. I can have a BX24 with a 54MMM and have it all, just a little slower.If money was no isssue I would buy the 7610 352FEL 54MMM and a wooods Hoe. Is the 2350 a better grass cutter than a 7610 with a 54 MMM?
I am almost 50 so maybe its time for me to be a little slower:D

Before I pull the trigger on this I just want to make sure I shouldn't be buying the larger setup and maybe waiting a year to get the hoe.
The problem is once you buy you are pretty much stuck with what you buy for years to come, without taking a serious beating.

The BX has the full floating mower deck and is much better at finish mowing. Nothing touches the lawn except the anti-scalp wheels if there is a high spot. The B7610 on the other hand uses a ground contact mower deck with rollers. It basically sits directly on the ground and rolls with the tractor. Some forum members have complained about the roller marks on their lawn, others say it is fine.

If I was purchasing a Kubota for primarily lawn mowing, moving a little top soil and mulch I would get a BX. It is smaller, lighter and much better running over a finished lawn.

If my task was more field mowing, trail building and use on uneven ground, I would get a "B" series or larger.

Just my 2 cents worth.

The limits are machine weight power and reach if you have a hoe, ground clearance if you go into the woods or field. I own a BX for the lawn and a B model for little work. The BX is a great mower which allows you to perform dirt work and snow removal on flat land. I would not want to mow my lawn with a larger machine.
