What\'s the difference on FELs for the L3130???

Without actually going to a dealer to ask, I see a lot of "talk" here about the two FELs. What is different about the two, is it the bucket's construction (thickness of walls) or the hook-up to the tractor itself, or the lifting capacity? Seems like everybody wants the bigger setup but I read myself silly trying to find a real reason why. Sorry if I sound stupid but I'm new at this game. I have seen the different construction of the Boxblades, Rhino vs. Woods. The latter is much heavier walled. I know that for sure. Thanks for the help, Guys. BTW, one dealer talked me out of going to the 3430. The extra money is not worth the extra two hp, he says. Talk about difficulties, making up one's mind. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Your right, the difference between the 3130 and 3430 is very, very slight. In fact the only discernable difference besides the 1 and the 4 in it's name is a bore of .1" or 83 vs 87 mm on the piston. Now that makes some difference in HP and torque and if that is all it takes for you, perhaps a extra bump would be in order such as the L3830. If your price for the L3430 is only slightly more then the L3130, perhaps its worth the extra few dollars. My dealer says he's only going to stock the 3130 because he is talking many hundreds of dollars in difference.

As far as loaders go, I think you need to figure out why you want the tractor and how much loader work your going to do. I am not seeing that much difference in price between the LA723 (the 723 is the approx lift capacity in kg at the bucket center) and the LA 513. The difference among other things is in the lift, bucket rollback, 2 of the more important aspects of the loader for me. The LA 513 gets a 66" bucket, the LA 723 gets a 72" bucket. The buckets are built the same. Rat...

I can feel your pain because I've been struggling with the very same decison. I drove a 3130 with the 513 loader yesterday. Very nice loader, though I did not get to really put it to work in the dirt. The 723 loader is only about $450 more than the 513 with a good bit more lift capacity. My dealer doesn't really think the 723 would be a good idea on the 3130. He feels like you would have a difficult time keeping the rear on the ground.

The LA513 comes with a 66" bucket and the LA723 comes with a 72" bucket. The LA723 has 4 bar linkage which accounts for the increased rollback angle. Both are great loaders, if you need more lift, the LA723 is the one to go with. Lewis

Your dealer "feels" you would have a difficult time keeping the rear on the ground? I would argue with any dealer about that. I often wonder just how much experience dealers actually have, you know, seat time. Just about any tractor has LRS or light rearend syndrome without an implement attached to the 3 pt hitch to offset the tremendous leverage a load sitting way out front in the bucket. The cu ft capacity of the LA 723 bucket is only about 9 cu ft. A decent 700lb to 1000lb boxscraper will easily fight LRS. Without a doubt, I would choose the LA 723 unless the loader is very unimportant for your uses. The extra beef alone is worth the price since as you know it is very easy to stress a loader hard. The added beef will certainly add some rigidity. Get the LA 723. Rat...
