Whats the deal with Kubota Whole Goods (L4200 tires)?

After reading the recent 'need BX22 tires' thread, I shot a note to my local Kubota salesman asking to price a set of tires n' rims for my L4200 through Kubota Whole Goods. He came back with $2080 + freight for a set of turfs (27x8.5-15; 44x18-20) on rims. Seems a bit high to me, but maybe it isn't. What do you think? My tractor would look STYLIN' with new rubber and shiny rims .

Incidentally - these are the tires sizes for the current L4600, which are the same in the front as my L4200, but bigger in the back - my L4200 uses a 41x14-20 in the rear. I kind of like the idea of getting bigger and fatter rear tires - any clue if one can actually go up 3" in the back? How would that affect overrun ratios?

I got a quote from my dealer today on r-4 for my l4600 for a front tire and wheel mounted 352.00 and rear for 788.00 each was pricing them to have spare

I recently bought a pair of fronts for my M4600 w/o rims - it was something like $600 for the pair thru the dealer, but the dealer bought off the market.

For the OP there was a place in Maine advertising tires cheaply. It read like they took excess inventory from dealers and sold them. But they were too far away for me to worry about, since my rears are almost brand new.

I put Oversize Turfs on my L4200 11 years ago... Love them, have never had them off since putting them on, kept the AG tires & wheels thinking I might want to put them back on for something, Never have and never will go back to the smaller AG tires.
Turf tires (oversized) Titan TORC TRAC (R-3) 16.9x24-6ply & 12x16.5-8ply
Wide Rims to match
Front Rims are, 16.5X9.75 6-6 and the rear are, 15X24 Flat Base Rim

Jay, your L4200 is made to handle 24" in the rear, Like Kenny's,,16" up front also.
I have 28" on my rear's.
