Ok folks, looking for your opinions, experiences and advice on GREASE. I am looking for your suggestions for what brand and type grease to buy for my tractor and implements. I have my tractor, FEL, MMM and Rotary Tiller. I will not by buying 4 or 5 grease guns so don't go telling me I need more than one kind of grease. I assume that it needs to be EP (extreme pressure) and have some MolyB in it or be a synthetic type equivalent. Ok, let the suggestions begin please.....:p

I hope you have plenty of time to read the posts that are sure to follow.. This topic will be long and detailed, and by the time its finished you will find out way more than you ever thought was possible to know about grease.. LOL

Personally, I am using Green Grease (available at TSC and Advance Auto) - I dont use a lot of grease so I was willing to pay for it, although plenty of ppl will tell you Im wasting my money..

BTW - there are quite a few 'grease' post in the lube section - i think the biggest/longest is titled "educate me on grease" or something similar

I do not want a degree in lubrication! I don't want to become a grease expert either! I just want folks to tell me if they could only have one grease gun to use on their tractor and implements, what would be in it. Thanks!

Since you only have 44 posts i will clue you in..

1) You will get way more educated on here about ANY (every?) topic that comes up than you really need/want to know about..

2) There is no simple answer to anything it seems - but its fun to hear everyones opinions (whether they can be supported by facts or not) ...

3) There are a few on here that will NEVER change their opinion/practices no matter much fact you tell them what they are doing is probably not in their best interest..

4) No matter how great a product is ppl talk about on here, after and you decide to use that product, you will probably not be able to find it local stores LOL

As mentioned by DieselPower (who is probably the King of Grease Knowledge) read that link he posted and ask him for anything you dont understand..

Based on all the scientific data I learned here I gave it a ton of though. Once of the points was not to mix grease types. Since I didn't want to purge what the dealer put in my BX, I asked them what they used, he showed me and I bought a case from him. Messicks sells the same stuff for a BX so figured that was a sort of validation. Figured it would help any warranty argument I may have later

However, the other general rule learned here seemed to be moly, moly, moly! I have several tubes based on DieselPower's input - use it for my other equipment. So I have two guns

Now, I have considered going to the moly that my dealer (and Messicks) also list for the BX - I figure that could get me down to one gun - once I purge....:D

I use the J-D "Multi-Purpose SD Polyurea" Product TY6341 grease for everything.

Why not? With the first shot of grease you're married for life? For most fittings, grease is purged every day. Most of us grease until we see the same color coming out as going in, but what if some grease is commingled?

Perhaps I should have titled this thread differently. I guess I should have titled it.....What ONE grease do you recommend for use on your tracgtor? I don't want to start a debate or a college class for credit. Can't I just get folks to tell me what they use/recommend. I didn't ask for the why. :p
