Whats it worth?

A freind of mine is looking at a NH 2002 TC45D to purchase from a private seller.
Tractor has a 16AL loader attached with a bucket and NH tooth bar.
Also includes a NH canopy.
Tractor and loader have 700 hours and in decent shape.
Whats a good private sale price?

Have a look at Used Tractors at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Caterpillar. for some representative prices. If I was buying, I would think $17,000 would be a good price. If I was selling I'd probably try to get $19,000 or so. This is assuming it's a hydro. Gear would be $1K less or so.

that sounds like a good clean used tractor an loader.trying to estb a value is hard.but id guess the tractor at $15000.but i dont know what new tractors like that are selling for.

I would concur with twabscs. I paid a bit less for a 1200 hr 2000 model with 17LA loader(supersteer). However, it had a cracked hood.

With the research I have done on the net I have come to the same conclusion on pricing.
I have compared the same tractor years from 2000 through 2006 and and for a 2002 $17K on avg. seems about right.

The new price of that tractor with the canopy was probably $23k or slightly more. The tractor has no warranty now and that's worth about $3k. I'd knock off another 10% because it is used, so that puts it in the $17k to $18k range.

Tell your friend to closely inspect around the battery for acid damage and to inspect the PTO clutch engagement if the tractor has ever been used for mowing with a rotary cutter. If the PTO looks relatively unused, that's a big plus.

When I traded my 2000 TC45DA with a loader ( 500 + hours ) on a TC 55 I got the best outright purchase price and they allowed 19k for the 45. I was impressed at the resale they command. It sold right away also. This was last year. Looking back the TC55 is quite a step up as far as power and ability.
