Kubtoa B3200
Hello,

I shopping around for maybe a new tractor, I may jump up to the next size above my B7800. I was just wondering what everyone thought about this tractor. I would be getting it with the woods, BHX70 w/ thumb.

Thanks

I bought mine back in Dec., and although I only have 11 or 12 hours on it, I really like it. It's 4x4, HST, with R4 tires. My only complaint is it doesn't have draft control. I wish I had bought it with that option.

Since the L3130 has been replaced by the L3240, I wonder if draft control is still an option, or if they made it standard. I looked at one a couple weeks ago while visiting the dealership, but didn't look too closely at it and I didn't ask the question.

The 3130's are a little cheaper than it's replacement I hear, but they are selling out quickly. If you want a 3130, I wouldn't wait too long to buy it...at least in my area, they are gone.
Podunk.

I've been looking at the L3130HST too. It's a nicely sized chassis, but my only question is will it have enough grunt to do heavy box scraping, loaded hill climbing, etc. I've also been considering an L3430 (same running gear, 3hp more) and the L3830 (7hp more, slightly larger). The price differences aren't that much more (notice how these things tend to creep) and the tractor weight is the same.

I'd also appreciate any input along these lines. I've got land to clear and shape, driveway to cut, logs to skid and junk to move. Whatever tractor I get will have the 723 loader, QA plate, bucket with toothbar and a set of forks. I'm also considering a grapple or thumb later.

WRT to the draft control post. How does this feature work and would it be helpful for boxing out earth? Also, can someone give me the lowdown on the tilt-n-top option?

Thanks

I purchased an L3130 w/HST & LA723 FEL about 1.5 wk ago. Although I originally was looking at the JD 3320 and L3240, the L3130 was available at a much lower cost with a $1500 "consumer instant rebate." There were no price incentives on the L3240.

While the Grand L40 series does have a few improvements, I found them to be very similar to the Grand L30's. The most apparent difference was the location of the SCV for the FEL which is located on the right side of the seat rather than on the right side of the steering wheel.

I had a 3130 and loved it. My only complaint was HP at the PTO, which was only a problem with the bushhog in heavy brush while going up a hill. I never had pulling trouble - it would slip (weight) before it would bog.

To solve the PTO problem I traded it in for an L5030 and absolutely love that. Both units had HST, 4x4, R4's.

So my only suggestions would be...

1. Move fast - Lxx30's will probably sell quickly
2. Get as much HP as you can afford - the deltas aren't that big but they would add up.

Then, have fun!

I have had my L3130DT for a little over 3 years and it has done everything I have ask of it. I plow, disc, pull a 6'boxblade and use the FEL with bucket and forks. I have had the FEL and boxblade full of red clay at the same time with plenty of power, in low range of course. Never had a problem.

If you are getting a Back Hoe, because of the extra weight I would look at the 3830, little extra power if you need it or the 3430. That is also if you can pay a little extra for the added HP. If not the 3130 should do great.

But wouldn't it be cool for all tractors to at least have position control. Boy, I could make use of that. Good link Mr. Amigauser...it just tells me what I wish I had.

lwschell-
was the savings more significant than just the $1500 rebate, i.e. are they really dealing on these?

the integrated loader valve on the 40 series is cool. the kubota optional third function valve is cool too.

there is also a hydraulic diverter option to allow use of the tractor integrated loader valve as two rear remotes (one with float).

did you drive hst plus? impression?
