What's a Fabricator 250 worth?

I have a friend that asked me how much a Thermal Arc Fabricator 250 is worth. I had no idea so I thought I'd ask.

It has a mig gun and regulator. It is very clean and looks almost new.

Also, is this a reliable machine?

I've had my TA 210 Fabricator for 18 years now. (Bottom transformer machine in photo).

I can't help you out on its value, but they ARE reliable machines.

Seems like any brand 250 transformer units never really get below $600-$800. All the new 250's are 2K. The Transformer fabricators were made in a Thermadyne high tech plant in Malaysia for many years. Then came the Tsunami and the plant and all of the people were gone. Inverter units are China. I might have a spoolgun for it.
Double check to see if it isn't a 251. The units with the 210-251 were more advanced higher quality than the regular 250 model.

Thank you both. I was close, I was thinking that $750 was a good price.

It is a 250 for sure. I am going to check it out today. I was surprised that it is a Mig only machine. I thought all Fabricators were multi function units.

I would like to know more about your spool gun.

I never used it for this machine, but my Miller 30A spool gun and WC24 contactor would plug right in. Mine has 14 AND 17 pin amphenols though. Looks like you have only one.

I have the Tweco Spoolgun for a 251 which will also fit this 250. Very much like the Miller 30A and they are interchangeable. Not sure you would need anything except the 30A. Shouldn't need the contactor as the contactor is in the machine for the spoolgun. The 251's would take either anyway. The multi process units are 2 generations newer than the the 250. The 211 is actually a 250 but they called it a 211 to get duty cycle brag rights against the Miller 211 of the day. The 250 was before my time. I have never ran one. It's got to be 13 years old. You can also plug and play a Tweco Pull gun for Aluminum on the Fabricators and run full sized spools without the little spool holder in your way.Cost is more than a spoolgun though.

Just an update.

I went and checked this thing out and I actually bought it. It is in very good condition and has seen little use. The original roll of wire that come with the welder is still in the machine, but almost out.
