When I am at the racetrack, or when I am riding motorcycle, I prefer the roll-up "foamies" on a plastic string. Most decent brands will give you 27-32 dB reduction which is enough to prevent damage.
When I am on my tractor, I use the Elvex Com 80R w/ FM radio built-in {HERE} . They provide 27 dB protection, and the fit is very comfortable. You can find them at a number of industrial safety supply houses online, for 10-15% below MSRP.
