came by this today at the junkyard where I get my metal, the guy told me what he'd take for it but I was curious as to what y'all might pay for this. Story is that some guy rebuilt the motor on it, started it, it quit running, and never started again. I haven't gone over it with a microscope and don't know how long it's been sittin but the guy said "it is" repairable. So from just the couple pics I took, does anybody have any idea what they'de be willing to pay for something like this? I don't know the make and model either.

Steve

Hey There I had an old massey tlb needed a clutch and it sat for 2 years on my lawn for 2 grand , I sold it to a guy for 1000.00 just to get the thing off my grass. I would really research parts availabilty before any $$ is passed.

I was thinking a grand max.... tires will be pricey and it needs some of those too...

Calculate the scrap value, and add 20%. Good deal for everyone. My guess is 1000.

Main ram on backhoe looks shot. Very rusty.

$500, not a penny more. Needs tires, possible engine work, Hydraulics??, etc.

If you are not a handyman don't buy it.

Same thing I saw. It needs a lot of TLC, tires, etc. $500 to haul it off.

But you have to tell us what he wanted. If I see something like this I usually have a number but want to hear the offer first. If we are that far apart I walk and it seems to not bother me as much.

It looks like a money pit. For what it could easily cost in parts, not counting how much time and effort it will take, you could buy a decent machine that's in working order.

I woldn't give him a penny for it, and probably wouldn't take it for free.

You might get lucky, but I seriously doubt it. The hydraulics are gonna be shot. They might be repairable if you know how, but more than likely the pump, cylinders and hoses are gonna run you a few grand at the very least. Maybe as much as $5K

The engine has problems and the seller wont tell you what they are. I bet he's lying since he could make easy money off of it if it was running. If he could fix the problem for a few grand, he could sell it for twice that any day of the week. I'm guessing you will need another $5K to get it running.

Additional problems that you might, and probably, have with it are the brakes, clutches and pins. All are gonna be warn and probably need repair or replaceing. Add tires to that and you could be in it another few grand.

I doubt you could get it up and running in a reliable fashion for under $12,000

Walk away and saver yourself allot of headaches and cash. Some rebuilds are good oportunities, this one looks like it's too far gone.
