What won\'t fit.

I've noticed several referrences to the "limited cat 1" on The BX, and I assume also on the JD 2210. I have used two different tillers, two different rear blades, 4' and a 5', can raise and turn them both without hitting, a 4' box blade, a post hole digger, a carry all, all standard Cat 1, they all fit. I realize that they won't lift as much as a heavier tractor, is that the limited that is referred to? What is it about standard Cat1 that won't fit? I suppose a 7' rear blade wouldn't be able to reverse? I'm sure someone has found something that won't work, but I haven't. I've got a couple more pieces that are Cat1 that I know I can't pull, but I'm going to see if they fit. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: What won\'t fit.

I have a Rhino HPHD post hole digger that does not have a chance of working on my BX2200. It works fine on my B2910, but the BX 3PH being smaller does not have the length to even hook it up. Now I have not tried it without the auger on it, but I would bet if I did, the gear box would end up being about 2 feet off the ground. That is just a guess though.

My landscape rake is a 6' KK, and while it can be hooked up to the BX 3PH, it would not lift high enough to swing around until I made the simple modification of drilling two new holes in the bottom of the lift rod fork ends. Now it rotates, but just barely. I can't remember if my 5' rear blade would swing around or not on the back of the BX before making the modification.

Someone a while back told me he used a subsoiler with his BX, but that he had to stop at the end of each row and take the top link off, and rotate it on the lower link arm ends, so he could get the bottom to come out of the ground so he could turn the tractor around. I believe this could be true, but don't have experience with a subsoiler myself (have one, just never put it on).

I know some PHDs work with the bx...mine does not...that's life. Actually I think I like using the PHD on the larger tractor anyway, because I have a clutch and can work the 3PH with my right hand, and control start and stop of the auger with my left foot. Nice to stop the auger in the hole, lift it up, and then spin the dirt off...seems like that would be harder to do with the bx...

Another thing, which may not mean much if anything, is that sometimes the pins on implements have to be turned inside because the lower link arms on the BX can't spread wide enough to go around the ends otherwise. I don't think this is a major issue at all, but it is made necessary by the "limited" size of the BX 3PH.

These are what comes to mind...perhaps there are other things as well...
