What was the original battery for L4330

Anyone know what the original battery size is/was for the L4430.

Someone put a replacement battery in my tractor and it is too short. The battery keeper bar is too tall. No way for it to hold the battery down as the hardware for the keeper bar is only threaded at the top. Can't screw it down far enough.

Could possibly use a strap or fab something but wondered what the original battery was.

Here is the chart from the owners manual of the LXX40 series. Very similar I imagine. You could look up the LXX30 series on Kubotabooks.com or whatever that site was called... These don't really look like standard battery numbers, though. If you take measurements of the tray and hold-down, plus this chart you should be able to get a parts store to find the right one.

Just checked my Grand L30 operators manual and it states the L4430 stock battery is 80D26R.

From what I've found online below are the approximate dimensions. I say approximate as they are not from an international standard, but dimensions listed for a specific battery.

Length: 256mm
Width: 170mm
Height: 203mm this is the case height, not the top of the terminals which is approximately 225mm

Both my Grand L30 and L40 have replacement locally sourced batteries, but I don't remember the size off hand. If you can't find a battery, let me know and I'll look to see what group # they are.

On page 17 it suggests BCI Group 24 is the replacement size.

This is from my 4330 manual. Looks the same as the later series posted above.

I also have a note to myself, probably about the battery in it now: nx110-5mf. That might still be the original battery, after all this time.

Could you find a threading die that matches your hold down bolts and run the thread down further for your shorter battery? (It would rust faster though.)

Checked the L3130 today and I replaced the stock battery with a Group 24 battery. It worked without issue.

The L4740-3 has a group 34 which was in the tractor when I bought it used. It doesn't look like to many threads are left on the hold down, so it would probably be best to get a taller battery next time.

Both batteries are secure.
