Tractor
TC33D
I have a new 33D (13hrs) that I've been putting through the paces here in the sunny northwest. All box blade work with a little FEL inbetween.
Today, after about 5hrs of pretty steady work the tractor started to "lope" at RPM's. Almost like it had a cam in it. Let me give the facts:
1. Hydraulic fluid had to be at temp
2. I started the tractor and it was fine at idle, in neutral
3. As soon as I throttled up, the machine started "loping", like the transmission was trying to move it, still in neutral.
4. All fluids are good.
5. Let the tractor sit for a couple of hours and everything is back to normal.

First thing that I would check based on the what you described is the fuel filter.

Sounds to me like the governor was hunting for the throtlle seting, somtimes they can do that finicy stuff, im sure everything will be fine. usully it will hapen with a cold engine set at idle govenor will go up and down for a minute and then smooth out. A little power service fuel cond. won't hurt,it has cleaner and lube for pump and ijectors

I don't think the poster has anything to do with the motor. While the transmission is ttill in nuetral the tractor is trying to move. To me it is in the hydro. Could it be some air in the lines yet or something like that.

LarryD could you repost and clear this up for us as far as being in nuetral or not.

I'm gonna have to say it probably wasn't a fuel delivery problem. The tractor idled very smoothly and and came up to 2500rpm's without hesitation. A few seconds later the whole thing starts to oscillate from side to side. I took it back to idle and it was fine, then back to 2500 with the same results. It really felt like it was somthing in the transmission. Hydraulic fluid was fine and not milky that I could see so air in the fluid is not likely.
Sure was havin' some fun up to that point /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry folks...still workin' on my first cup of coffee. The tractor was in neutral for it's little tantrum.

that explains it a little better but you said it did it in nutueral. and now it did it at 2500 twice in a row, now i am thinking fuel filter, starving for fuel at high rpm, that would make tractor rock side to side as rpm go up and down. what about at 1800-2000 does it rin fine then, I am asuming the tractor dosenT try to move forward or back. just side to side. if you work tractor do you loose power diging or pulling. what about smoke if any, I realy don't belive its the trans. the way its up and down.

Well it's only done it the one time, I did throttle up a couple of times thinking it would work itself out. The tractor ran very smooth at idle. After I drove it back to the garage, I let it sit for about an hour and the little elves fixed it.

thats what i got out of your first post, i realy thougt the governor just acted up,if its fine now thats probly what it was,the governor regulates the fuel under load no load to keep at the rpms you set somtimes they get finiky,id run a little power sevice though.

I would hate to think my engine is getting gummed up after only a couple tanks of fuel. I get off-road diesel at my local Cenex and the container has only had diesel in it. What is the "power service" you mention gone?
