What tractor to buy in the 95 to 110 hp range?

Got about 30,000 to spend and was just wondering what everybody thought about these smaller horse power tractors like what to buy and what to stay away from.

You may get a better response to your questions down in the AG tractor and Machinery forum. Most of the guys here on TBN do not have tractors of that size. Those would be considered very large tractors to most of the members here. Don't know what to tell you about your hydraulic pumps other than something is definitely wrong. The dealer should have been able to take care of these. Have you tried a different repair place?

well i know a good bit about the big farm tractors.for $30,000 your wanting to spend you could get a used kubota 8540 or 9540 used.now those are 85 an 95hp tractors.you can almost buy a new 8540 4x4 with ROPS an fel for $30,000,your $8000 off the price of a new tractor.

Along the lines of MtnViewRanch, that is kind of an odd size for many. I and several members have M85/9540, but that is in the low end of your category. In my area farmers usually run 250 HP up, so I don't have much exposure to that size, sure wish I could give better info/help.

if used would be ok take a look at a John Deere 4040, 4240, 4055, 4255, 6410, 6420(would have to be high up in the hours but I have seen some in your price range) or perhaps even a 5603. I recently saw a VERY nice Ford 8000(120hp i believe) go for $5,800 at auction. You should have no problems stumbling accross a good used Case IH, Massey Ferguson, or a late 70's-early 80's model International 66 series either. These tractors in the horsepower range you're looking at are out there by the plenty for some good prices, just have to keep an eye out.

Check out your Case IH dealer. I was there yesterday and saw a 90 horse cab tractor in the low 30's.

a ford 8000 is 105hp if my memory is correct.

In MF, 5445, 5455, 6255 and dozens of others. A 6000 series Deere would be about that price, probably a 10 or 20 maybe a high hour 30 series. A NH TS, 7840, 8160, 7610, or dozens of other similar models, a Landini Powerfarm or Vision 100 is in that range, Case have some base JX models in that range or lots of upscale.

There are hundreds of tractor models in that size range. Need to narrow down your requirements.
