What to plant?

My yellow squash is pretty well played out........a 20'X20' plot......time to clean it out and replant.......

Will yellow squash make again in N.W. Ga?

What else would be really good to do now?.............

I don't think the squash will come back without replanting. Peas or beans add nitrogen to the soil and are often used in our area to work as a green manure for soil improvement. Although if you do not like deer you may want to try something else.

I think you could replant...whats your first frost date? One problem with planting this time of year is the day length is shorter and your plants will not grow as much per day.

Hi. I'm in NC and was talking with my brother about this last week. He said that he had heard that the last day to plant squash in North Carolina was August eighth. Considering your location, I would try it this weekend. Good luck and let us know what happens.
