What to do with you tractor over the winter

I currently own a Kubota 2410 with can, and it is in great condition. Through the summer I do contract mowing with my rotary mower or set of gang mowers, and hedge cutting with my hedge flail for local councils. But during the winter the tractor stands still.
The trouble is, the misses thinks the tractor is a waste of time when it comes round to winter, and she wants me to get rid, but I'd hate to part with it as it was so hard to find such a good one.
I need to diversify and think of some uses for winter, so it can earn its keep.

Any ideas???

My wife appreciated the need for a tractor, with a little acreage to mow.

Once she learned to use the loader though, it was all over. No more wheel-barrows for her! She still lets me do all the mowing(her allergies could not take it even if she wanted to try), but she probably uses the tractor as much as I do, throughout the year.

when we upgraded from our 19hp tractor, I was hesitant to get the one we got; the second she got on it with 40hp and huge loader, it was a done deal. She drove the deal more than me!

where do you live? Do you have a drive to maintain, snow to move, plants to plant?

I plow snow in the winter and I use it to cut firewood and do other little projects at my house. If you make money during the summer with you tractor why would you want to get rid of it?

i guess ill never understand why people let their wives have a say on what toys men are allowed to have and keep. I once read on another forum that a guy was trying to get rid of his dog becuase the wife said it had to go. the guy was clearly upset too. I told him to grow a dam pair. I woulda told my wife where the door is.

I bet no woman ever sold any shoes because her man said she had too many and some needed to go! LOL

Well the Mississippi wants to buy another house, and to do this, selling the tractor and equipment would release about £15,000. She's got a good point, but it took me so long to find a good tractor, and it's my work toy.

I live in the central part of the UK, so we only get one good snow downpour a year and the max it could last is only 2 weeks, so that's snow ploughing out the window. Although we did have a bad one 2 years ago.

My driveway is only around 50 yards long, so doesn't warrant a tractor to clear it.

I just wondered if any of you guys use your tractors for any other things, or take them out as a day to day work horse away from the house.
