What to do with unused field ?

A new house went up next to the barn on the farm and left us with a small pan handle of field that the farmer doesn't want to farm. Maybe 100X300. It is access from the road to the fields. We don't need more lawn. I am already mowing over 3 acres. I bush hogged the corn stubble. What can I do that will look half decent and not need mowing every week.

Pick up a 100 pound bag of wild flower seeds and have at it! Then bush hog it in the fall.

Kill all the grass or whatever, plant white clover as a ground cover, and put in a fruit orchard.

Since the farmer is farming your land, I assume you have an ag exemption. If so, you will probably want to be careful what you do with that piece of land. If your CAD sees it no longer used for farming purposes, they may reclassify it and jump your taxes as if it were part of your house and lot.
