Tractor
2014 kioti dk40
Hi everyone
I'm looking to buy a new tractor but am not sure what size I need. I was thinking 35-40hp 27-35hp PTO. I'm looking hard at the kioti's I have also looked at kubotas. I was thinking the ck35 or ds4110 for kioti or the Kubota l3200 or l3800. I will be using it to do yard work, grade my driveway/road, firewood tree length and stove length, bush hogging the fields at camp as well as maintain the small <1.5acre food plots. I will also be using it at the in-laws dairy farm to rake hay and to do my own farm chores with the chickens and couple beef cows we have at the house. I wanted to be able to move ton pallets of pellets around but is not a main priority. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated I am worried I might get something to small or way to big for my needs.

I forgot to mention I will be plowing a lot of snow with it in the winter also so 4x4 and a fel is a must

Of the tractors that you have mentioned, only the 4110 has the lift capacity for the pellets. The other tractors have about 1000lb less lifting capacity. Something to consider for other uses that you might have. ;)

The 4110 is what I want. I would like the dk40 but is more than I'm looking to spend at this time. I was considering the ck35 because of price wise my payment s would be that much more affordable but I really would like the extra lifting capacity to pick up the ton of pellets and round bales up to the farm. Anyone on here have a 4110? From what the dealer has told me its the same tractor as the dk40 just without a few of the nicer options

Check out the mx4700 too. Not too much more than the kioti. A couple grand extra now to get the right tractor, whatever it is, is well, well worth it in the long run.

Larger, heavier, tractors have larger wheels and tires. They are much more stable with loads, especially on rough ground. Safety is so important.

Safety and stability are the key reasons I sold my 3,400 pound light-frame Kubota B3300SU tractor/loader and bought my 5,400 pound heavy-frame Kubota L3560 tractor/loader. After 400 hours with the B3300SU I was working it too close to the margin, too often.

I like having heavy duty pin-adjustable stabilizers and telescoping Lower Links as part of the Three Point Hitch. I am spoiled now. I would not consider any tractor without these features. (Note: I plow using Draft Control, so Pat's and most other aftermarket quick hitches, which occupy the Lower Link "eyes" are not an option.)

What does a quick hitch have to do with using Draft Control?

I was also looking at the DS4110 and that found the DS4510 was not that much more.
I got the DS4510 and have been happy that I did. The couple extra HP has helped
and even if the loader lift is the same, I appreciate the extra everything. I would
recommend that you get the 2nd remote before you pick it up. If you decide to get
a TNT the second remote needed. I went back and had it put on a year later. If youecause I
get a grapple, get the 3rd function. My dealer used the same source I did for my
DS3510 3rd function.. Sold the DS3510 because I needed the more powerful FEL lift.
You will enjoy the tractor.
Tom:thumbsup:

P.S. Brian of Mtn View. I had to take the valve assy off I got from you to put the 2nd
remote on. going to move it over slightly and mount the SMV sign on top of the valve bracket. I need to take some photos and send them to you. Hope they get the system on here fixed. I can't post any on here.

Forget the CK for moving a 2k pallet of pellets.

The DK has a lot of nice features...Loader control placement (this was a big one for me), draft control, telescoping rear links, control at rear of tractor for raising lowering three point while hooking up, better transmission choices, 12x12 or Hydrostat, 2761lbs of lift on the loader etc.

We all have to live within our means....but.... I would recommend taking a good look and comparison at the DK before making a decision on the DS, not that there is anything wrong with the DS, but the DK is a much nicer tractor IMO.

The dk series is nice, but for me, I never considered them because I don't consider switches instead if levers for things like PTO, 4wd, and diff lock to be "features" on a tractor. Tractors should be tough, and I can tell you with certainty, that it's harder to break, and easier to fix a lever than a switch. Other than that the dk series is pretty nice. For me, the MX was the sweet spot, a large frame compact, with hst, without all the bells and whistles, at a reasonable price point.
