Ergonomics, a little extra flow on the hydraulics. Went from a 1523 to a cabbed 1635, quite a step ip, not regretted.
Heavier loaders too.

Have a look at a powershuttle, or Dyna QPS, went from a hydro to a Powershuttle, never regretted it one bit. With 5 gears (creeper) below 1MPH, and 12 gears total (12F/12R) lots of choices, all work great.

Thanks Creek but I was asking the readers opinions. I can look at stats all day but asking another owners opinion you get more out of it.How bout you? Any thoughts, comments?:confused2:

The 1500 and 1600 series are both very nice tractors. The layout whether it be cab or platform is well laid out. The Dyna QPS transmissions are a dream to drive, no shifting with a shifter - just a push of a button and the power reverser. On the 1600 series the isolated platform gives a nice smooth ride with no vibrations. With the Backhoe you are required to get the loader. They both remove and install very easily. On the backhoe you have to watch that you don't swing the boom over and hit the cylinder for the outriggers or get hooked on the pads. Whether you get the 1500 series or 1600 series you will be happy with the machine.

I am not familiar with modern MF products. We had a MF 135 when I grew up on Dad's farm, and it was a tough tractor. I have a Kubota L4400 now. Sincere apologies in not being able to provide you with further assistance. Best of Luck.

Currently own a 135, have test driven a 1635, 1648, 1652 and 1660 Cab. All very nice machines. I was surprised how little difference there is in size between them considering the difference in HP range. All turn very well, seem extremely well engineered (steering cylinders behind front axle, good ground clearance and heavy castings etc), great visibility, plenty of Hyd flow and pressure (gravel pile at dealer). The ergonomics are great and seat is quite comfortable (6' 1" / 230 lbs). Whether the three or four cyl, they're all quiet. The 1635 qnd 1648 were both HST, very nice to drive and extremely quiet. The 1652 was power shuttle, also nice, and the 1660 was Dyna QPS, WOW! Would have to say I'd take the Dyna over an HST on a tractor in that HP range, smooth transitions and incredibly easy to use.

Have a 1533 and love it so far. Bought it used with 350 hours...currently have 435 hours on it. Only problem we've had was ripping the hydraulic filter off from underneath driver's station (right foot area where quick disconnects to FEL are located)
