2018 KIOTI CK3510SE CAB, 2475L BACKHOE, 72 BOX BLADE, 72 REAR BLADE, 72 LANDSCAPE RAKE, 1,250 LB 55 GAL DRUM BALLAST, 2018 FERRIS IS 700Z, 26HP 810 VANGUARD ENGINE
What size rear blade 72" or 84" would I use for a Kioti CK35? I would want it to cover the width of the tractor with r4 tires when plowing all the way angled to either side. I'm looking into purchasing a Woods HBL rear blade.

Im not sure the width with the r4 tires (I think it's 54" with ag tires). Also wondering if an 84" is to big for a CK35?

Will you be earthmoving with a full blade or just grooming a driveway?

If you plan on doing heavy grading-making some serious cuts, then you will be better off with a 72" unit. Other wise, normal use grading, plowing snow, go with the 84" unit.

Our tractors are sort of at a mid point of where a 78" blade would be perfect, but no one makes that, so you have to really consider what it is that you will mostly be using it for.

If you do not already have your tires filled, I highly recommend that you do. Not only does it help out for traction, but it sure helps to stop the back of the tractor from getting pushed around by the blade when angled.

Please post pictures once you get it.

No at this point I don't plan on anything serious. I guess if I came a cross a project down the road that required some serious cuts then I'd just take it easy for that job. I'm think rught now its mainly gonna be for snow plowing and grading the driveway

I believe that you will be happier with an 84" unit and get better over all use from that size. ;)

Snow plowing sounds easy. The CK35 will easily pull a 8' blade loaded with snow. However, when you put the blade at a severe angle, it's very easy for the snow to push the front of the tractor around. Unless you are plowing parking lots, a driveway is usually the same number of passes with a 7' or 8' blade anyway. I would go with the 7'. The 6' I wouldn't even consider.

That said, if the primary job is snow, I would buy or build a front blade anyway. You can find a used Western 7' plow during the summer real inexpensively, and it's very simple welding work to attach it to a QA plate, even if you're not that handy. It's also a way better experience than a rear blade. Your tires are always operating on plowed snow so they get a much better grip, visibility is way better, etc.

(I had a 7' on my Kubota L3650, similar size to your CK35. Had chains and the loader full and it would still push the front end around. 8' on my new NX6010 but I have not snow plowed with it yet.)

Really, the rear blade needs to be a minimum of 1.15 X the width of the rear wheels, that way it still covers your tracks when angled 30 degrees. So step up to the next largest size that satisfies that requirement. I wouldn't go wider than needed, especially for snow, as the rear blade will act like a rudder and counter your steering in the snow when traction and control is already compromised. No reason to make that worse than it has to be.
