Hi, I have a JD T100 integral disc. It is 3pt and is about 10' wide. I think this would be called an offset disc (4 gangs in an 'X' pattern). It will need some rebuilding, but I got it for free and have already made most of the parts. Will my MX5000 pull it? Will it lift it?

The tractor has a FEL and loaded rears, with Ag tires and 4wd.

Thanks,

Troy

Sure it should have No problem...
Just how well it works will depend on your soil type... but that is plenty of tractor for that small disk...
And if you get is some tight clay soil you can set the gangs a bit Less aggressive and just hit it a second pass ... KennyV

The 3pt would need to be a lot easier to pull than a drag disc.

In sand it takes 70 HP to pull a 10 ft. tandem drag disc with loaded rears and the loader bucket parked under a shade tree. Struggles a little in 2WD and does much better with 4WD engaged.

The X disc you describe is a tandem not off set and with an off set disc add 10 more horses minimum.

Below is a calculator for general information.

I have a 13' tandem disk with 20" blades, pull behind, not 3 point, weighted down with 2 10' pieces of railroad rail for ballast. I have a heavy clay soil and my 5740 pulls it - not super fast but in the low side of mid-range. I have 600# wheel weight tractor ballast plus keep the loader on without bucket for front end ballast. It may be a little much for my tractor but the price was same as yours-free, so I am happy. My dad bought this disk for his 56 PTO HP Case 400 Super Diesel back in 1958 and it my L5740 pulls it about the same. I salvaged it out of the hedge row where my cousin had dumped it off eons ago when he bought my dad out. Hopes this gives you some ides - you have a fighting chance.
