I have a Kioti DK 45SE 4x4 and I am looking for a 3pt disc. What size would you guys recommend? Or if anyone has a used one local to zip 22469 for sale, we can talk about it.

Thanks,

J.R.

I bought a 6' for my 43 hp Kubota last fall. In my light soils, I think I could pull a bigger one, but for it's limited use I decided I would get one that would cover my wheel tracks and that would be good enough. If I set the gangs real aggresive, I can feel the tractor working, but it has never reached it's limit. Overall, I say it is a good match.

An 8 footer would be just about right for a 45 hp, 4wd tractor. No implement but a front loader benefits more from 4wd than a disc.

Thanks for the advice. I will try to locate a used 8 foot disk. Also I have a 4 bottom 16 inch plow, has anyone ever taken off the back 2 plows and used it like that on this size tractor?

I have a Kubota M4800 48 hp (43hp pto). I have a 20x20 (that's 20 20" blades) heavy disk. It's 6'8" wide. In loose soil (after it has been turned) it will stop my tractor. Of course my tractor is a 2wd. I have to keep my hand on the lift to feather it and keep the tractor moving in real loose soil.

I'll second what Chris said. I've got an M4800 2wd with same disk. Loose soil will bog it especially when gangs are offset.

As an update: I just measured mine. I am pulling (20) 18" discs. in a 6' width. As mentioned above, the last time I used it was behind a 43 hp. With the gangs set aggressively, I am glad I had 4WD. Especially in my sandy soil.

Look in your manual, they probably are very close on size if they give that info.

There is much that comes into play such as softer soil is harder to pull disk in than hard soil due to how the disk sinks into it cutting deeper. Also the angle of the gangs as both have been pointed out. Then there is the speed factor and what you are disking. I have M6800 Kubota which is 68 hp and pull a 10 foot disk with 20 inch blades. Very very seldom take my gangs off of full angle but first time over our slightly sandy dirt pull it very well with corn debris on the ground. But let it get cut good and I have to drop a gear to pull it. I rather not over load tractor as slow disking does not leave as smooth a finish on our dirt. Want there to be enough speed to break up what it rolls.

I think a 20 blade with 20" disks would be just right for your tractor. You need to be able to keep up enough ground speed to break up the dirt and leave the dirt level behind you.

Talk to some locals about disk spacing for your areas soils, and type ground cover.
