I just started using my new JD655 tiller with my Jd2520 and it works great. I did have a rock get stuck twice and both times it shut off the tractor. The pto shaft came with a slip clutch so I was surprised it did not slip but just shut down the tractor. After checking other posts about the slip clutches and reading how to adjust them I tried to adjust mine but it will not adjust at all. I checked on the website for the Eurocardan slip clutch that I have and it says it is preset and cannot be adjusted unless you change the springs (don't know where to get different springs). I am very concerned about this and how it might hurt the pto on the tractor as well as the tiller itself. Does anyone else have this type pto shaft w/this slip clutch and does it seem to work? At what point should it slip? What is the point of having a slip clutch if it doesn't slip? I would think JD would match up the tiller and tractor based on torque required. The dealer said it will be fine to use am I being overly concerned?
