Flail Mower What model JD flail is this?

This was given to me. I'd like to find some more information about it, but I don't even know the model number. What I DO know is:

- it's a John Deere
- it's older, more than 10 years, but I don't know how old
- It's 6' wide
- It's offset
- It has 36 knives (three rows of 12)
- It cuts great

I'd like to know what the model number is, how old, how reliable are they, regular maintenance other than greasing fittings, how much is it worth, etc.

If you take the serial number to your dealer - he should be able to look it up - and you won't have to guess. (Or rely on somebody else's guess!)

It looks like a 25A to me.. When I was rootin' all around the country for a good flail mower - I found quite a few older model 25A's.

Still hold good value as they are a very reliable and well built machine. Your's looks to be in good shape; beyond a little surface rust.
