What kind of loader attachment is this? (on a Bush Hog 2345QT loader)

Hi all,

I have a Kubota L4200 with a Bush Hog 2345QT loader. I'm wanting to buy a pallet fork attachment. I thought about the forks that attach to the bucket, but I'll be lifting some loads at the max for the loader (pallet of wood pellets). So, I have some questions for you:

1) What is this attachment called, where the bucket connects to the loader arms?
2) I've never removed the bucket since I got the tractor. But, it seems I could just remove that vertical pin and cotter pin (see the bottom of picture A) from the horseshoe shaped metal piece and slip the arms out of the bucket. Am I correct in this? Seems like its some sort of quick detach.
3) What do you recommend for a vendor on the pallet fork attachment?

I believe that is proprietary to the Bush Hog loaders. I've only ever saw one other like it and it too was on a Bush Hog loader.

You could get 3pt forks. More lift capacity, standard interface.

Not much lift height & you need a top cylinder to dump from level though.

Your sources of pallet forks are going to be limited if the attachment method is proprietary. An alternative (costly) would be to buy a skid steer quick attach (SSQA) adapter; e.g., Bush Hog,Rhino Quick Attach or Pin-On Loader to Skid Steer Quick Attach Adapter. You could then choose from a broad array of vendors.

I suggest you purchase some pallet forks and a carrier from a forklift place and make your own carrier.

I purchased a 16 in carrier from a forklift place for about $75 and adapted some brackets to fit my Power-Trac. I had some spare forks.

Bush Hog made forks to fit it, didn't find any pictures.

To chime in, I would convert to SSQA also and be done with it. Little bit of money up front, and then the ease of changing out front implements and a world of selection to choose from. Also when I had those pins out, I would clean out the rust in the grease channels and lube them up. Most loader manuals call for greasing the pins every 10 hours of loader usage.

I don't have any experience with the Bush Hog system, but the pictures indicate, at least to my eye, that it would be a major PITA to switch between implements. There's a reason for the popularity of the SSQA system -- it makes switching implements a piece of cake.

Yes -- here are two examples: Skid Steer Quick Attach Weld On Plate for Buckets,Pallet Forks,Bale Spears,etc. and Construction Attachments Weld-On Skid Steer, Skidsteer Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach Plate (with video instructions).
