Tractor
Kioti CK35
Tractor was working fine, but the wires to this part broke off. Opening and closing the hood broke them.
This part is on the same side as the fuel filter but a little lower and a few inches aft.
So I’m wondering what is it? And more importantly, where do the wires connect?
Any info would be helpful.

BTW- I'm talking about the little black cylindrical piece of plastic with the two wires sticking out of the end. Could it be a relay? Definitely related to starting. Fuel pump relay? Fuel shutoff? Anybody with a Wiring diagram of the starter circuit could be very helpful. :)

Maybe I'm missing it, but you should list your tractor make/model, etc. just so folks know what they are looking at and can help you better.

Is it not starting now?

Try to find an illustrated parts breakdown for your tractor (whatever it is). How many wires are on the component? If there are only two it could be some sort of switch or sensor, based on its location. If it is on a line (fuel, etc.) and has two wires it could be a shutoff solenoid. Generally you'll have at least three wires on a relay or solenoid.

Agreed!

thats a connector that plugs into something, relays are generally square boxes

I'm gonna take a wild guess that it might be .....

Looks like a sensor or switch.
Could be a pressure switch or sensor?
Any way to splice the wires back on ?

Right, it looks like a connector to me. The two black parts unplug when unlatched. I see a yellow wire on the back half in your picture:

I would cut the zip-tie that is holding the connector and follow the wires. From a schematic, it looks like the wires going to the fuel solenoid relay is a black and a yellow.

Yes, wires can be spliced back in. Apparently they were spliced into the headlight wires before they broke. Could have been a little jerry rigged. My father had it repaired after a rat had chewed the wires, so I don't know if it was repaired by the book. But it did run perfectly before they broke.
I'll try to find an IPC and go from there.

only having 2 wires it is not a relay, and if it affected the electrical system Im thinking it is a circuit breaker or fuse

Yes, I looked into relay design. And almost all seemed to be three wire systems. So, I'm thinking that you are right about the possibility of it being a fuse. I plugged the sockets back into the headlights and they are functioning, so I'm thinking the basic wiring is correct.
I hooked the black wire to the frame(ground) and didn't get a start, but seemed to get starter relay action.
I will splice the green wire into each of the three possible wires that it probably had been wired to before the break.
Hopefully, one will be a solution. Photos in a few days.

Yes, It's a CK35. Approximately 2012 with the manual transmission. I'm gonna talk to a mechanic today. Tried some wire splicing-seemed low risk as they were probably not high current. No luck yet.

I had a mechanic work on it. He fixed it pretty quickly. Didn't charge me for any parts, just labor. I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it yet. But----he DIDN'T connect the two wires that broke. As far as I can tell, they weren't the problem. I should be able to find out what the problem was in a few days.
