What is the smallest JD lawn tractor with power steering?

For years I thought power steering on a lawn tractor was a frivolous option. But now, facing purchasing a new lawn tractor, my wife who loves to mow wants power steering. After looking at the JD website, it seems the smallest (cheapest) tractor is the 534. Is there anything else I should know, like some secret option list or dealer-installed option? I hate to have to spend over $7000 for a lawn tractor. Thes upper-end lawn tractors make the compact utility tractors look cheap. Thanks.

If you're not afraid of used, the JD 425, 445, and 455 have the features you want, have most of the power of the current 7xx series, and work with most current implements. The 425 has a Kawasaki liquid cooled engine, the 445 has the same engine with fuel injection, and the 455 has a Yanmar diesel. I have a 455 and it is a beast.

This years model is the x540. Last years model would be the gx335. JC

You could try to find a 2 or 3 year old SST. Those can be found for well under 2k.

find yourself one of the latest 300-series. They (except for the bottom model) had power steering and hydraulic lift. You dont realize how much you appreciate power steering until you throw a blower on the front.
