Does anyone know what the difference is between the John Deere lawn mowers that are being sold now at Lowes vs the ones that are being sold at the Dealerships??
No difference.
They are the same if they have the same model number on them. Around here, the crates arrive with the tractors in them and they are shipped on to Lowes or Home Depot. Some of the same model number are sold at the dealers. They are the lower end of the line-up, which competes with the other brands.
You may be able to get a better deal at the Big Box store because they have been offering gift cards up to 200$ at times during the year when you purchase one of the JD mowers from them. They do not discount the mower itself when you buy it but the gift card in effect lowers the price you ultimately pay.
The only reason I started looking at buying from lowes was because I just moved to a new area and got a 10% discount card for up to 10,000.00
Since I have to buy stuff for the new house I thought 10% off a new mower was a good savings. The catch that I just read was that it didn't apply to John Deere.
So the next question is what mower is worth buying from lowes that will mow about 1.5 ac out of Troy built and Husqvarna?
They all have the Briggs and Stratton engine.. even Deere. (from Lowes)
