What is the difference between the Fine Cut deck and the Standard Cut deck on BX MMM?

I ordered a 60" Finish (Fine) Cut Deck with a mulching kit for my BX2370. I know the "mulching kit" adds baffles and mulching blades.

Kubota has two 60" MMM decks, the RCK60D-26BX and the RCK60B-23BX.

My order says it's a RCK60D-26BX (I think the "D" is for "Drive-over-deck", but maybe it means "Finish Cut").

The Kubota BX brochure indicates there is a Fine Cut and Standard Cut mower, but doesn't explain the difference. It looks like both decks use the same blades (if I'm reading the Parts Catalog correctly).

Is there a difference in deck design between a Finish Cut and Standard Cut deck?

I think it has to do with the depth of the deck but don't really know for sure.

That makes sense. The brochure points out a deck height dimension for the Fine Cut (but doesn't indicate the relevance of that dimension).

Yeah, truth is I don't know what difference it makes, I assume it can mulch better.

The main difference between the two is the depth of the deck. With the Fine Cut deck, you need to stay on top of mowing more often, as it can't choke down what the standard deck can chew. The Fine Cut deck is supposed to give you a better quality mow but, my dealer talked me out of getting it mainly because he never sold one. I purchased the standard deck for my tractor and it mows great...never chokes down and produces a great cut.

Sharp blades on a standard cut will give as good of results as a fine cut. You would not be able to see the difference in cut quality.
