Recently picked up a 8N tractor, and going through the myriad maintenance items that have been pushed off by POs, along with some poorly executed "repairs". Currently up - the tilt crank...thingy on the passenger side 3pt lift arm to adjust side to side tilt of the implement. It appears to be frozen in the lower section that I assume is threaded, along with being cracked near the lower base and evidence of a poor attempt at brazing it. When attempting to crank it, I see the upper shaft turning a slight amount in the upper head, which I assume has a bevel gear arrangement inside. There is a possibility that the aforementioned brazing attempt may have brazed the internal threaded section together as well..
I haven't yet pulled it off the tractor for disassembly and inspection, and I suspect it's likely just rusted in the lower section which some application of penetrate lube and heat should get it apart. Also will be simple to drill the crack, weld up. But, in the event of part of it needing to be replaced, what the heck is this thing called? I've been googling for a while, and getting hits for the lower lift arm itself that connects from the tractor to the implement, or things related to the crankshaft in the engine, or the top tilt link..but nothing for this particular part. I'm sure I'm just not using the correct search terms, but it's also a case of "I don't know what I don't know...", lol.
