What is difference 16la vs 17la loader?

What is the difference of the 16LA and the 17LA loader? From what I see from web research, the 17LA has about 10" more reach, but other specs are same?

The TC40 I am receiving tomorrow, I thought had a 16LA; it is a 17LA loader.

Looks like the 17 may be a slightly longer loader, thus it has slightly (5-10#) lower capacities.

The 17LA loader is for tractors with supersteer. They need the additional clearance for the axle. Since it has a longer reach its capacity is reduced. If you don't have supersteer you should use the 16la.

Yes, it is a TC40DA HST with Supersteer.

Makes sense. the front tires have to clear the loader, so the loader has to be a bit farther forward.

New to New Hollands. My previous little Kubota was a lot smaller, basic, and had an aftermarket loader.

Robert, you will also find with SuperSteer that your loader moves the opposite of your wheels a few inches. It does it to a small degree with non-SS and the 16LA loader too. This is a bit disconcerting to new owners of SS tractors until they use it long enough to predict and compensate for the loader's movements.

I am a bit surprised, that they make two loaders. Does not seem that they would sell enough volume to make two loader frames.

Robert, not only do they have the 16LA/17LA loaders, there's also the 14LA/15LA loaders for the Class II Boomers. Then, you add in the red painted Case/Farmall DX models and you get more versions. Add to this mix the fact that New Holland now has a new supplier and you get the 240TL/240TL SS models for the Class IIs and the 250TL/260TL for the Class IIIs. I don't even know what the Case/Farmall numbers are because Farmall DXs don't have SuperSteer like the New Hollands. Then just to add to the confusion, the earlier model Class II Boomers before they came out with the curved arm loaders all had 7308 model loaders. The new Class I Boomers have a 210TL loader there's a 110TL loader for the economy model tractors. Then there's the Boomer 8N. . .oh, never mind. My head is hurting.
