What is a suitcase weight

Can someone direct me to a website showing what a suitcase weight is please. Are they universal ?

These are weights that have a hand grip cast in.
They're used on the front bumper of a tractor to counterweight any implements on the 3PH.
John Deere's smaller suitcase weights go about 42 lb (19.1 Kg).

As far as being universal, the bracket that holds them on the front bracket appears to be specific to a brand. However, it appears one could rig up an adapter fairly easily.

The picture attached shows one type..I've no idea which company this one was manufactured for, but I know it's not the Deere design.

I "think" you will need the grill guard for the Kubota suitcase weights. If you happen to need a FEL then a grill guard comes with the package.

I'm getting an L4400 (tomorrow) and I'm wondering two things: 1)What increments do they come in and 2) How much do they cost?

The Kubota front weights (BL8050-1) are 55 lbs and cost $63.00 each. If you have an L4400DT (4WD), you will have to add a weight bracket (MX8068 at $83.00) to hang the weights from. The bolt kit (BL8060B) runs $2.00 a weight to keep them from rattling around and making noise. The max number of weights is 7 for that model.

On the Deere 790, the weight bracket is incorporated in the grill guard as shown in the attached picture. one must remove the loader safety latch (bronze colored component in the picture) and install the pin that holds the suitcase weights.

I don't have any suitcase weights yet. I really don't have any dire need for them, but I wish I could find a set of used ones. They would be handy on occasion, but not at the price Deere wants for new ones.
