What is a mule drive?

What is a Mule Drive? I was reading some old posts and was wondering what it is? I was never around many Cubs when I was younger.

It's akin to a "subframe" that attaches a mowing deck to the tractor...goes on top of the deck, under the belly of the tractor. Used on the older Garden and Super garden tractors. I had one on my 1782, was kind of a pain to remove/install if you wanted to switch implements.

yep,Wheel Horse was big on those.They worked very well though.

The mule drive is just the part on the front of the sub frame. It has 2 pulley to turn the pto belt 90 degrees to reach the mower deck. It is located directly below the pto clutch. The rest is the sub frame. I'll see if I can get a pic.
