I have a CK30HST and trying to set it up for plowing, disc'ing, and other light
farm work. I looked at the Kioti site and they don't list my tractor as a match to some of the implements. Does anyone know if you can pull a disc harrow-er, and a turn plow with the HST drives without damaging the HST drive. What are the limits for the HST?

Well I'm thinking a big tractor like that with a category 1 3PH will pull anything you want it to. Does it have a 3PH on it? If not get one ...they make things so much easier.

Pay a visit to your local farm implement store for some advice/recommendations. TSC has the stuff you need too but the staff there is more tuned into simpler retail activities.

No reason you can't use whatever implements you want as long as they are sized for your tractors power limits. The HST tranny doesn't become an issue with what you want to do.

You can use whatever you want within size of HP size of your tractor. HST has nothing to do with implements. Of course, if you want to get in to a debate of pro and cons of HST and geared tractors WHILE using an implement is whole another ball game. :D:thumbsup:

Thanks for the info!! I was thinking there should not be a problem as long as I used low gear. Radioman, I bet there is a lot of debate on the pros and cons of the two gear boxes. I thought about when I bought the tractor, and went with the HST so my wife could drive it with easy so she could drive while I'm hooking up stuff and dragging logs and such. Makes life easier than on and off the tractor all the time!!

Use the search function above and put in HST vs Gear or something like that if you are bored some time and want to read for a month or 2. Sometimes the opinions are quite heated. I like HST for the control and ease of use, and the safety when working around people and buildings.

Here's my experience, for what it is worth. I work my HST like a dog. The two main uses for my tractor is snow in the winter and in the dirt, produce farming in the spring/summer/fall.

I've three or four major ground engaging implements, plow, disk, cultivator, and drag and rear blade. Can I bring the tractor to a halt? Sure. Sink the middlebuster plow all the way, or snag a root. Shoot, I make the HST relief valve cry like spoiled child if I sink the C-tines of the field cultivator down too deep in more resistant soil. But that's the point, I guess, I want to make.

The relief valve releases the pressure buildup of the HST. My kindergarten understanding is this. It won't let me really damage it. It just relieves itself and the tractor cannot really go on with full power. Hope that makes sense.

I'm also good to it, changing the fluid and filters a bit more often.

BP explained it well and I think it's better to hit a relief valve then mangle a 3 point implement. That being said my 5' HD box blade for my CK30hst was pretty bent up when I traded it in. Even the lowly HST can twist up a HD Box when the scarifier snags a rock. I have been real careful with the newer 6' BB and bigger HST...so far so good.

We now have a total of 3 Kioti HST's in our family now, 2 DK35SE, and 1 DK45SE We love em! Only thing i have found that limits my tractors work is #1, my imagination, and #2, my bank account. Don't under estimate the strength of a Hydro-static transmission. Here's a picture of my 2 HST's . . .John

David our HST has a low/high gear range. We only use high for travel or cutting grass with the 72" rear deck on level ground only.

For what you mentioned in the 1st post we'd be using low gear for any ground engaging attachments you described. Then again you have over double the horsepower we have so that tractor may have options we don't.
