No mention of the 55 in current sales promotions. Is it still available ? I know through out the years they drop accesories ( like the draft control ) to keep the price in line with other manufacturers. Did they remove the engine option ( turbo ) due to price or repair problems ? I believe the engine components are the same for the 40, 45, and 55 including the block.
Any news on the NEW Boomer series ? I have heard the quality slipped and manufacturing was transfered to another country. No verification to know if it is true or not. I did have a landscaper stop and was interested in buying my 55. He related he would come very close to the retail price I paid. His dealer was skeptical about the 2012 versions also.

The new Boomers are rebranded LS tractors. I have a Boomer 35. So far so good with it with only a few minor problems with the loader. Only at 55 hours right now but will be putting a lot on over the winter when it starts snowing.

So was the company sold or are they just restructuring ? New Holland has a good brand name with many satisfied customers. Why would someone just drop the name unless it was sold out the side door ? ( with restrictions on the former parts, name ID )

Joe, NH closed the Boomer assembly plant in Georgia and put those workers out of a job. The new tractors are basically LS tractors with similar loaders to the old Boomer line instead of LS loaders. I don't know that this is the case, but it seems to me that the TC55DA went away about the same time as the Boomer 8N appeared. Perhaps NH replaced the TC55DA assembly area with the Boomer 8N production area. I don't know and it's all a moot point since all the old Shibaura based Boomers are gone after current inventories are exhausted. Just when they got a full line of tractors with cabs and features people wanted, they dropped the Shibaura based line for the LS models with no cabs. I'd love to have been a "fly on the wall" in the meeting where those decisions were made because their reasoning escapes me.

I agree about the cab deal. I'm currently "manufacturing" my own. I'll have to upload some pics when I get it done...I'm not exactly a machinist but I'm hoping it will keep me warm anyway.

It is a bit disappointing about the lack of matched accessories for the Boomer XX series. Seems there was a lot more available for the Boomer XXXX series but I'm sure that time will change that now that Case has one available too. Good thing, maybe I'll have money to buy more toys, scratch that, tools when they are available.

So who builds LS ? Is it still part of the Case / Farmall division ? I read an article where they stated the New Holland Line would not be sold. Looking up Case on the net it appears they remained untouched with many of the Boomer features. Did LS retain the super steer option ? Looks as though if you want the higher HP and cab Case / Farmall is the only alternative left.

Joe, LS tractors are Korean built. The LS line of tractors is sold at LS dealers and the New Hollands and Case compacts are now both made by LS. If you scroll down here on TBN, you'll find an LS forum. Here's a link to the Case-Farmall lineup pdf. It's 6.7 Mbytes, so it takes awhile to load. I'm not sure about the larger utility models, but SuperSteer has gone away on the compacts. The engines on the LS models are Mitsubishi.

Thanks for the info Jim. Glad I have the 55 NH already in the garage. Brought home a six foot Nortec Parihna rock rake today. ( similar to a Harley manufactured 35 miles from home ) Going to build another garage for the attachments soon if this keeps up.
