What fluids and oils go in the LX665 skid steer?

I just bought a 1997 LX665 and I'm changing the engine oil and hydraulic fluid for the first time on my end. Is it true that I'm supposed to run 10W-30 in the motor? That's what I'm told by the dealership, which is odd. I also had one dealership tell me to run 10W-30 for the hydraulic fluid and another told me to run actual hydraulic fluid. When I spun off the old hyd filter the fluid was red, which to me means dexron mercon transmission fluid. I have no idea what to put in it now.

If you had an operator's manual and read it, you would know that an LX665 calls for 10w-30 Diesel rated engine oil in both the engine and hydraulic system. The manual would also detail where and how to service the chain cases, fuel filter, lubricate the various linkages and axle bearings and make periodic adjustments here and there.

Yeah, but the unit did not come with the manual because the previous owner lost it. I called the dealership today to order one and they just told me to order one from NH's website. I checked the website and never found anywhere where I could order a manual. So, I'm completely in the dark on this machine......

Call 1-800-635-4913 with a credit card in hand. New Holland Technical Publications will sell you an op manual for your new SSL. Have your serial number handy just in case there is more than one manual for early/late production machines or something. No point in getting a manual that is 'almost the right one'.

I think I'm going to drain the hydraulic fluid and start with what I know to be fresh hyd fluid but I have no idea how to drain it. I looked underneath the machine and saw no good drain plugs. I'm also pretty sure that stuff won't siphon out too well. Anybody know how to get it out of their?
