I purchased a second JD 1026R before they ran out and only had the newer 1025's and 23's available. I'm going to deck this one out mainly for comfortable snow blowing this winter. The dealer has the tractor, 48" snowblower, and deck waiting for me.

Before taking delivery I plan on having them put on a heated cab also. After looking at a few different types, I was considering the Jodale Perry hard sided cab. It's somewhat more expensive than, say for example, the Curtis, but I liked use look and construction from what I've seen.

I know they had issues with amperage draw if loaded and all accessories (e.g. Heater fan, flashers, working lights, etc) turned on with the 1026R. No stock JD alternator upgrade offered, only 40 amp available which couldn't effectively handle the full load. In a conversation with the Jodale Perry they said they've addressed the issue by using LED working lights in place of the previously used halogens.

Can any of you comment on the constrction, quality, and your experience with Jodale Perry cabs? Even better, have any of you used one of their cabs on a JD SCUT like the 1026?

As a side note, while not yet advertised or in the general parts software, the dealer I'm working with did notice a JD 50 amp alternator was listed in an inconspicuous spot and there were only 15 available. Made him wonder if JD has a cab offering in the works for the 1 series in the future.

Since you have a separate 1026R for winter use the hardcab would be a nice addition. Hopefully you won't have to many slopes to deal with. With the led lighting upgrades the 40 amp alternator should work fine.

Here's two pictures of the cab from Jodale Perry's website.

If you dont mind writing the cheque, they're a nice cab.

I was looking at them a few years ago for my 2305 but the dealer took them out of the running because of shipping costs. I when with a Curtis. There is not as much glass but it was just as warm. I also had to make my own floor and seat pan mats to plug the big holes. I think they come standard with JoDale Perry ??

I gave my dealer the configuration I wanted, he's going to get a quote for the cab, delivery, and customs. It'll be interesting to get the full quote.

Thought I provide an update on my discussions with several of the cab makers.

I liked the look and feel of the Jodale Perry cab and initially pursued the purchase of that cab. I'd also heard of a satisfied customer from the area as well.

Unfortunately, What I found with Jodale Perry was a pretty unresponsive and seemingly disheveled organization. Time after time the quotes requested did not match the request we made. As we worked further with them I found they couldn't provide what they originally said was available (e.g. LED work lights, etc.). It did not feel like intentional deceit, more like an organization in disarray. This was further substantiated in problems with replacement parts ordered by an area dealer for someone else.

We ended up talking to Tektite and while I liked the looks of the JP cabs, the Tektite folks were very responsive and left me with a much better feeling. I ended up ordering a cab from them. It should be here in a few weeks, will report back after its installed.

From my experience lots of the companies are unresponsive when it comes to one on one with consumers. They prefer that the dealers respond to the customers exclusively. I had the same experience dealing with Laurin when purchasing a cab for my 110tlb, the cab is fine but direct communication with Laurin is limited.

Looking forward to your pics and evaluation of the new cab.

I had a Curtis heated soft cab installed on my 1025R. It included floor and seat pan mats.

Also had one on previous tractor, 2305. Much more glass on the 1025R cab.

Actually, the contact and correspondence was through a dealer, I had no direct contact with them. Sorry, should've mentioned that.
