I can't figure out the significance of the various T- designations mean. Is this fairly random or do they have a logic to them?

If you could give me a context, I would try to help. Uh..some of the Prefixes might be model numbers of various tractors. Like TC35 is a New Holland tractor... I dont't recognize many others.. some guys use the acronym TNT to mean Top and Tilt. Which are hydraulic cylinders replacing your top link screwjack and also the side lift link. Give us some examples and I bet we could figure them out. Or you may be refering to something else entirely.. I dunno:confused3:

New Holland uses these various T designations for their tractors (TC35, TD5050, TK4050, TN60, TT55)

Often these things have meanings, but I can't for the life of me figure out the logic to this system.

I guess I'm asking can someone make generalizations about a tractor by the TC vs TD vs TK, etc. (Like low suspension or extrawide tractor or high volume hydraulics or whatever)

Oh I see, sorry I did not notice this was posted in the New Holland Forum.. I look at all forums in the aggregate. Sorry I cannot help.

I used to have my own codes for those tractor designations, but they probably mean very little to anyone but myself. There are too many models for me to keep up with anymore, so I just don't try to explain it. If you can figure out what the models are before New Holland changes designations or adds another model, you're a better man than me. Here's how I used to remember them:

TC - Tractor Compact ( I think this is actually accurate.)
TN - Tractor Normal
TL - Tractor Large
TM - Tractor Massive

I have no idea what the new model designations mean, so going to New Holland's website is the best approach.

They are random. If you don't know which designation fits each series, they are meaningless. The most meaningful designation would be any letter suffix at the end of a model designation such as TN95FA or TL100A.
