I guarantee this machine is over twenty years old. It came from state surplus the vo tech school owned it for a couple of decades. They are likely the ones who painted it.
The guy I bought it from is the one who purchased it at state slurplus auction. He told me it was a 4020? He didn't know much about it. The backhoe & loader part work ok. the transmission works ok. the power steering & brakes don't work at all. You can steer it but its Armstrong steering. and the brakes have pedal but it like pushing on the concrete. The Front pump supplys oil to the backhoe & loader only & it has a hyd tank on the fender. two entirely different separated hyd systems, the transmission pump provides hyd power to the brakes & steering. I know it working because the trans had three clutch packs and they wouldn't work without pressure. the steering has a sector like a vehicle power steering. it don't have any hyd steering sectors.I usually ask, "what model did the seller tell you it was?" Since it was surplus I guess you got it at auction? How was it listed on the bid list sheet?
I dunno this rig is pretty big. it likely weighs 6 tons. its not a Ag tractor. Its a industrial. the hard nose is made of 3/8 steel and it has a solid front axle. its built squat and low.Appears to be a 2010 or even a 1010. Probably 50 - 55 years old. Parts are getting very difficult to come by...at least for the ag models. The serial number plate on these models wer on the engine block.
