I am looking for a compact or possibly another subcut in order to maintain my 2 acres. The question is, what is out there for $12k or under. I need to finish mow 2 acres. I would like to have an FEL if possible. What is out there to be had?

I have owned Kubota in the past, however I am not loyal to any one brand.

Check out the Kioti LB1914. Kioti was selling it, with a loader, for for $9995. You might be able to get a good, used, rear finish mower and come in right at your $12k budget. It has a manual tranny. You don't hear about too many problems at all with that tough little tractor. I think you get a 4 year warranty too. Good luck.

I am looking at buying a 300 hr L3130 Bota with tiller, finish cut mower, blade and landscape rake for 14K off of a guy here.
Looks like new. I guess I might become a hydro owner
No loader though, but then my old IH has a nice loader....

Another option depending on if you are handy at fixing things or not is to buy an older tractor, they are much cheaper.

Pre-owned tractor--you probably can find something like a Yanmar 1700 with a Koyker loader for under $8K somewhere in your neighborhood. Check the Yanmar forum on TBN for more info on these tractors.

For that amount of money and for the planned acreage size, I would look at a very good used unit with FEL/mower. Something in the 20-25hp range. You may still have some money left over, have a great tractor with lots of years left, and still enough muscle to do some real work. Anything new for that price will probably be in the large garden tractor size with limited FEL capacity.

That's plenty of tractor for 2 acres, and an excellent mowing machine from what I read.
