I have a Kubota BX2370 with industrial tires and I do a lot of mowing with it and I was wondering if I should:

Industrial tires filled and use when mowing
Industrial tires not filled and use when mowing
Turf Tires filled
Turf tires not filled

Which choice is better? I was wondering if the industrial tires might not be to bad on the lawn if they were filled with ballast, what are your experiences?

The more weight the more pressure on the ground and more compaction. If you need the extra weight for the FEL consider a ballast box or other implement on the rear to add the weight. Turf will do the least damage to the lawn. Industrials have hard sharp edges and may cut the grass on turns.

First, I would run the tractor with the tires you currently have in every possible condition--dry, wet, and snow. If you start to have problems with ruts or stability, then address it at the time. Your existing system may already be working, so don't fix it.

If I were to do it again, I would get Turf and not the R4's I have. You have to be really carefully with R4 not to tear up the lawn...

More weight is gonna rut things more.

If it is soft and muddy, turfs are gonna rut things up just as bad.

Turfs have the advantage when making sharp turns as they dont have any sharp edges as mentioned already. So they are less likely to tear sod up. But if it is soft and muddy, they will rut just the same as r4's

We FEL even with ballast on the 3PH.three SCUTs, two BXs and a JD2305 as well as a JD425 with turfs. We run Industrial without fluid on the 2305, Bar tires filled on one BX and Industrial with weights on another. Soil type seems to matter more than the type of tires and filled, no fill and weights. All our soils have a lot of clay and really can't tell any difference in ruts or compaction on any of the.

We have a FEL on our BXs and none on the 2305 and mow pretty steep sections, so we like he added weight for the FEL even with ballast on the 3PH.

A Stanton raises a good point as what might work best for one of us may not for you.
