What Are These?

My wife's parents have both passed on and she was going through some of their belongings. She found the two pins pictured below and was wondering if anyone knows what they are. The second one has engraved on the back, " Be Just, Merciful, Honorable, and Brave". They lived in Pennsylvania and were active in VFW and DAV. Any ideas?

The first is the Daughters of Rebekah Odd Fellows Gold Medal. The second is The Sovereign Grand Lodge Independent Order of Odd Fellows Ladies Auxilary Patriarchs Militant Decor of Chilvalry.

OK! Now can you tell us what search method you used to find that info. I googled a few things and came up with nothing and gave up.

Well, usually I say that "I'm a doctor and I'm expected to know everything" , but I lucked out when Google returned the second medal with a search on: {medal with crown on red heart white cross}. Once I knew of the Odd Fellows relationship, I messed around a bit with varying combinations of {"Odd Fellows", dove, gold, olive, star, three, links}. Google used to be a lot better before they started prioritizing their advertisers and people learned how to "up" their link hits to bump their scores - but it still is the best search site IMHO.

Before seeing the rest of the posts, I keyed in on the three chain links(Friendship, Love, and Truth); one of the main symbols for Odd Fellows/Rebbekahs. You'll see it on all thier buildings. In Placerville and Coloma(near me) are lodges that go back to the 1850's, and were prevelnet buildings in town. My Grandmother was a Rebbekah for years(I think she still is a member, but not active).
