What are these O rings for?

I found a couple of O rings on the FEL. Specifically on the Hyd cylinder. They are painted orange. What are they used for? Any ideas?

They are there to keep the paint out of the hydraulic cylinder seal when they get painted at the factory.

I dont know what they are for, but my kubota has them too. (scrubbers?)

I was at the local Kubota dealer the other day looking over their wares, and found a broken O-ring shaded with orange paint all the way around, on the ground under a brand new BX25. My first thought was "This can't be good."

But thanks to Rick for pointing out that it is innocuous.
