We both took Thursday & Friday off to make it a 5 day weekend. Our mini vacation started off very sad. We had to have her most treasured companion put down. Otto was a 13 year old Doberman- Rottweiler cross. He was everything you could ever want, sane, calm, focused, dependable, kind to all and very attached to Nancy. It was very evident something had changed recently & Thursday morning we took him to our vet, who confirmed our fears. She offered to come out to the house where he would be more comfortable & we accepted. Very hard, as many of you know.
We also picked up our new truck, same day. I suggested we put it off but, she said, "let's just get it done". We both are very happy with it, though I understand her lack of enthusiasm.
We put my old scrounged hay equipment to the test, 75 bales off our small field. I was impressed. I mowed it earlier this year when I figure it was way past haying due to all the rain so, I'm very pleased.
Three more days off & I'm going to do everything I can to make them good ones.
We sure are missing otto though. He is irreplaceable.
