So I had my heart set on a rear blade but I think the box scraper is the way to go. I have called around most of the local places. Woods has two 72" models. The lighter duty most places are getting 1200 for and the heavy duty close to 1500. Woods and lands pride are the only companies my local dealers can get. The king kutter and other cheaper brands seems to have a good product that weighs almost the same a the woods.

Anyone care to elaborate on what blade to get. Should I save the 400 bucks and get a king kutter for like 800ish? It looks similar to the lighter duty woods.

I'd get the heaviest one you can find. The light duty ones won't dig like the heavy ones. Try some other dealers. Most tractor dealers sell one or more brands. Lots of good ones, but not cheap. I bought a used gannon in sad shape for $150 and put about $300 in it. It's got to weigh over 800 lbs or more. Digs like crazy. Smooths nice too.

I can recommend Everything Attachments 72" box blade shown on their web site.

Everything Attachments XTreme Duty 72" Box Blade For Utility Tractors With 30-70 HP

Very reasonably priced and good customer service.

Excellent, I am going to order one of those very soon. I can't justify 50% more for the woods. I may only use this thing 10hrs a year. Plus someday I want to upgrade to a larger tractor so no need to spend a ton on one now

Not sure what size the NH 1920 is, but my bota MX5100 is 50 hp and I have 72" Bush Hog brand BB. I was just doing some dirt work this past weekend and, depending how you set the 3pt, it will flat out stop my tractor in 4x4 with ag tires if you take too big a bite. It weights about 550 lbs and as I recall was about $900 about 3 years ago.

The 1920 is only rated at 32hp although it weight and size with ag tires make it seem as if its 40 or more hp. I am sure the medium duty one I am planning on buying will do the truck

Everyone says the King Kutter is too light and talks nonstop about box blade weight. The KK is only 500 lbs and has worked perfectly fine for me. It's 25 lbs more than the EA box blade, well built and I paid under $600 for it new. Sells now for $620.

I've dug a ton of my TOUGH clay soil up with it, have it constantly loaded, and spread out 550 yards of topsoil in about 2 days of part-time work.

I'd go with the KK and save the money difference for more attachments. I have a bunch of KK attachments, and the only thing I have been disappointed with was the 7' rear blade but it was an el cheap at $379 new and behind a 40hp tractor. There were a couple welds I had to reinforce after hitting some iron stakes in the driveway.

I'm happy with my 72" King Kutter behind my Kubota L3200. I need to ballast my R4s for more traction, but it will pull a full box as long as the rippers aren't all the way down.

Never overlook the used market. I got a used KK for my JD and it works great. If I need weight for a particular job - which is rare - I just tie on some cinderblocks. Works fine. I shop around and get used equipment whenever I can. I like used because, if anything breaks, I don't have that much in it. However, my KK box blade and used Howse cutter have never broken. For average, ordinary use by a part time tractor owner, used is the way to go most of the time.
