Well, I went green today.

I was in the market for a tractor, actually an orange one, but ended up with green. I looked and looked for a reasonably priced used orange one. I looked at new orange ones. By happenstance I stumbled upon a 2003 4410 12/12 ePowerReverse with R1's, 5' 420 loader, 8A BH, 5' woods mower, auger, box blade and 3pt fork frame with 950 hrs. and bought it. It is in nice shape, but needs a good bath. I hope I did OK.

Would you guys tell me what you think it's worth?

Everything seems OK except for the front axle seals which leak. I know this is common and it is supposedly an easy fix.

Can someone post/send the procedure. I plan on buying a service manual asap, but would like to get this thing into service without any worries. New seals were provided.

Also, would reversing the front wheels be that much more tough on these seals? It obviously would place some higher stresses at the axle, hub and bearings, but even seals with unflipped front wheels on bone stock or brand new tractors seem to fail. It sounds more like a debris/contamination issue. Any solution?? A seal for the seal perhaps??

I can't wait to put this gut to work. Thanks.

ohioboy, actually with the front loader and hoe the wheels should be run in the wide position. It states that in the JD manual. As far as the wheel seals go, keep them out of water. It seems that most of them get tore out from running in water. The dirt in the water gets into the seal and acts like an abrasive and then the seal fail.

I just got a 2003 4310 with 60 hours on it, with a new 300cx loader, 72" Frontier hydro blade, and a 72" mower deck. Went GREEN to Larger GREEN. Seems like trading cars with the value my 4100 retained.
