Welding job on big tractor

Well, not sure if I should even put this up here because I have no pictures

Anyway, a buddy called me up tonight and asked if I could do some welding for him. His front loader mount has been broken for a while on his tractor and wanted to get it welded back together. I have a little 34 horse NH with a 7308 loader and I am use to working on that scale of equipment and he brings over this loader mount off from his NH 7740 (read BIG) tractor.

Seems the last dealer just decided to use about 1/2 the bolts to mount it and it tore itself to shreds. (as equipment on that big of a tractor does on occasion)

Anyway, it was a fun project, welded back on some 3/8" thick ears and a 1/2" thick ears and drilled some 7/8" holes with the plasma. Little time cutting, grinding and welding in the shop with a good freind.

Some things really make me smile. Will try and grab a pic this weekend if I get out there. Hope the dang thing fits after all the welding.

Way to go. Now you need to find him some "chores" to do for you (since now he owes you one). Not really, but I bet if you ever do need anything, he'll be glad to help.

He is one of the handfull of guys that over the years I like working with back and forth.

Sitting here counting and there are about 7 good freinds, that I do whatever they need, no hesitation, no worries.

Because I know when I need something, they will do the same.

I am really fortunate to have that many guys that I work that way with.

With the right guys, you just know it will come back around.

I mow a buddy of mines "yard" sometimes (more of a 3 acre field) and his house sometimes, had the wife do the landscaping on their business sign etc. Never worry about money. Spent the past Saturday in his shop rebuilding the xmsn on my Z71, (he did the rebuilding, I swept the shop) all I paid was dealer cost on parts (he is a XMSN shop) It is deals like this that keep me afloat at times I think.

You are fortunate to have 7 real good friends. I have 3 real good ones.. the kind that will 'help you bury the body' so to speak... and they were hard to find.
