Can anyone tell me the weight of the 16LA front end loader? I can't find it in the owner's manual and I'm trying to size a trailer for hauling my new TC 35DA.

Thanks!

SCfire, from the state of Minnesota contract page it appears the loader weighs 1205 lbs and the 72: bucket is 262 lbs. Hope this helps, Bill C

Not trying to get off the subject of the loader weight, but would like to thow my .02 cents worth in on trailers. Since the 16LA loader sticks out so far in front of the tractor you will need a longer trailer. If you have a bachoe, or rotary cutter, add even more lenght to your selection. I have a TC-35D with a 16LA loader with a toothbar. With backhoe, or rotary cutter installed it fits perfectly on a 20 ft trailer. I don't think it would fit on a 18ft. trailer without something hanging off the edges. I know some states don't allow implements hanging over the edges.

I have a 20 ft Anderson trailer with dual 7K axles. It's perfect for my tractor.

I have NO fiancial connection with this trailer dealer. I have bought 3 trailers from them and their service is great.

SCFire, you've been given some great advice by GATC35. I echo everything he said and really want to emphasize the importance of getting those 7,000 lb axles with brakes on at least one axle.

I bought my trailer about four years before buying my TC45D. With the 16LA loader and a boxblade, I am pushing the limits of my trailer with two 3,500 lb axles. Now that my rear tires are loaded, I cannot legally carry the tractor on my trailer. I'll have to sell this trailer and get another one soon. The perfect trailer for your tractor would be as GATC35 described with the addition of trailer brakes.

Thanks Folks! That's the info I needed. I'm trying an 18' 7,000 lb tandem axle trailer. Took it across the scales and the trailer, the tractor with FEL and 6' Bush Hog weighed 9,040 lbs! I definitely need to go larger with the trailer. The local dealer said that a 14K lb trailer will only be $50.00 more than a 10K lb trailer since he's got the 14K in stock. I'm thinking that's the way to go.

Any thoughts on tilt versus ramp. He's got both....although the tilt trailer is higher in price.

Thanks again to all of you.....collective wisdom of this group never ceases to amaze me.......

Interesting information on your weighting excercise. Did the bush hog hang over the edge of the 18 ft. trailer ?

I have never used a tilt trailer. I have always used ramps. I can see where a tilt would work better if you had to go retrieve your son's Mitsubishi Eclipse from the side of the Interstate. Don't ask !!!

The bush hog did overhang the rear of the trailer by about 2 feet. I was able to raise the ramps and chain them, but they were tilting at about a 30 degree angle to the rear.

Go with the 20 ft trailer. Not good to have anything hanging over. I prefer both axles with electric brakes; if you ever NEED to stop quickly both axles are a plus and the extra cost is small. Tilt vs ramps; I would go with ramps and a winch on front of trailer; tilts can get hard to load in wet weather as you loose traction loading; ramps you will never have that problem especially a beaver tail trailer. If you have ever spun a tire on a tilt trailer loading it can get exciting as tractor goes to one side or the other. Also, if you can spec LED lighting on trailer;do it; only way to go!
