Implements sure do look great color matched to the tractor. Got a Quart of Kubota orange and used to paint up my projects.

I ordered some paint today from my dealer. They didn't have in stock so it may be a week or two. I did get epoxy on the box the week end. Doing a few things to wrap up the lid

Very impressive! I think you should paint it red as planned, and then add a little Swiss Army cross logo to it since it is the Swiss Army Knife version of a ballast box.
I like that idea

Let me add that Mahindra Red is a beautiful and understated red. There might even be an implement build I have planned that could wind up as OEM Mahindra Red.

And doesn't Kubota Orange II really pop? I love using OEM factory acrylic enamel. It is just beautiful.
Your mower is stunning.

Thanks sixdogs. Yes the bright orange ll really does pop. Here is a pic of what it looked like when I bought it used, and I then finished with some new decals after paint.20160306_120338.jpg20160403_090803.jpg20160403_090737.jpg

I was able to get a few more things done on the box. Fitted the prop rods and lock. Made the lid with a handle. Painted with epoxy and painted the lid solid black. Next will be priming the box with a high build prime then going red with the box. My main background is a painter and body man so I tend to take the finish products a little farther for far equipment. Haha.

when i made my barrel weight box they were pouring a foundation across the sreet so i was ready for that bit of leftover concrete. When he asked how much i needed i drove over and said fill her up. I didnt realize what 55 gallons of concrete and some steel framing weighed until i tried to lift it and drive away. I shoveled it out untill i could lift it lol (about a foot off the top)

That really is a nice job. How did you prep it?

Point is, I have a Woods rake that needs a repaint and I don't want to spend more to buy the paint. Yet, I already have Kubota Orange II in the basement. Hmm...I could buy a set of decals, paint it the much more attractive Kubota Orange II and smile all the way to the bank. Since Woods now paints things Kubota Orange, no one would catch it. Might even help resale when that day comes. It's now on my summer project list.

Sorry sixdogs, just saw your post. I used a 4 1/2 grinder with a flap disc and wire wheel to prep. I also used a hand held sand blaster for the corners I couldnt get to.

Wow, is that impressive. It's a fair amount of work but what a great pride of ownership and way more than you paid for it when you sell it.

Hey guys and Paul, sorry it taken so long to post up the finish picks. Been busy with honey due's around the house.. I was able to get some concrete in this week about 360 lbs so far. total weight should be 500 of so. I used it last night to unload some skids and it works pretty well but may need a little more weight. I'm going to use steel scraps and lead for hear on out so I can change if needed. With the bottom floor in I can hold two saws, gas and oil. Hammer and ax with wedges. Everything I need for a trip to the woods.

Paul, I'm still watching all the old videos and trying to give you time to recover. I didn't want to comment a whole lot so you don't feel the need to respond and get some rest. Still getting some ideas for my next project, could use a little guidance from you and the rest of the guys on the board. GET WELL SOON MY FRIEND.

That is a very nice weight box. How hard is that weight on tractor hydraulics and is it any sort of problem or things to be aware of?
